The swearing-in ceremony was conducted by Comrade Aliyu Haruna Kankara, NULGE’s National President, on Monday, August 25, at the State NULGE Secretariat on M.K.O. Abiola Way, Challenge, Ibadan.
The event drew union veterans, state officials, branch chairmen, stakeholders, and members from all 33 Local Government Areas and 35 Local Council Development Areas of Oyo State.
Adeogun, re-elected on August 7 after a decisive victory, thanked members and described his re-election as a “collective victory” for all local government employees. “This victory is not for me alone; it belongs to all of us,” he said.
Reflecting on his first tenure, Adeogun highlighted accomplishments including enhanced welfare packages, stronger advocacy for local government autonomy, and consolidation of unity within the union. He assured members of continued commitment to their welfare.
“We shall continue to be the voice of the voiceless and uphold the dignity of labour in the local government system,” Adeogun pledged, urging members to maintain unity and announcing a “Thank-You Tour” across the state to personally appreciate supporters.
The inauguration ceremony was filled with songs of solidarity and celebrations, showcasing the resilience and renewed optimism of NULGE under Adeogun’s leadership.
