Barau FC, Kwara Utd suffer home defeats as 3SC beat Plateau Utd

The drama in the Nigeria Premier League (NPFL) continued on Sunday, with two away victories recorded in some Matchday Seven fixtures.

Warri Wolves bounced back from last Sunday’s home loss to 3SC of Ibadan as they handed a 1-0 defeat to hosts Barau FC, who had won away to Kun Khalifat the previous weekend.

In Ilorin, Kwara United fans were forced to swallow the bitter pill of defeat after the Harmony Boys lost 0-1 to visiting Abia Warriors of Umuahia.

In Ibadan, mother luck smiled on Shooting Stars as they pipped Plateau United 1-0, with Ayodeji Ismail heading in the only goal in the fifth of the eight additional minutes.

Enyimba of Aba and Rivers United shared the spoils in a gritty contest in Aba, with the tie ending goalless — leaving both sides’ unbeaten runs in the season intact.

Niger Tornadoes were also held at home by Kun Khalifat, who ensured a share of the spoils with a 1-1 draw, just as Ikorodu City extended Bayelsa United’s poor home run after holding the hosts to a 1-1 draw.

The match involving Rangers International and Katsina United will hold on Monday after heavy rain prevented it from being played on Sunday. Remo Stars will also take on Wikki Tourists on Monday at the MKO Abiola Stadium, Abeokuta, to round off the Matchday Seven fixtures.

Earlier on Saturday, Nasarawa United inflicted a 1-0 home defeat on Bendel Insurance, while El-Kanemi Warriors defeated Kano Pillars 2-1.
