Barry Showkey returns to Fuji music scene with new single

Balogun Adewale Akanji, popularly known as Barry Showkey, has officially returned to the Fuji music scene after a long hiatus.

He marked his comeback with the release of a new single titled Roborobo on Thursday, May 15.

Speaking on the release, Barry Showkey revealed that the new single is his first major project in years, signaling his renewed commitment to pushing the boundaries of Fuji music.

The UK-based Fuji singer also spoke about the lasting influence of his father, the late Fuji legend, Barrister Sikiru Ayinde, saying: “My father always told me, ‘Focus on your own path, build your legacy, don’t depend on mine.’ That’s the energy behind Roborobo — it’s about authenticity, resilience, and rhythm.”
