Bayelsa set to host NFF General Assembly Monday

Bayelsa State is set to host this year’s Extraordinary General Assembly of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) on Monday, March 23, 2026.
The assembly will be declared open by Governor Douye Diri at the DSP Alamieyeseigha Banquet Hall, Government House, Yenagoa.
Several top dignitaries are expected at the event, including Chairman of the National Sports Commission, Mallam Shehu Dikko, and Director-General of the NSC, Hon. Bukola Olopade.
Also expected are Chairman of the Senate Committee on Sports, Senator Abdul Ningi, and Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Sports, Hon. Kabiru Amadu.
The Extraordinary General Assembly will bring together chairmen and secretaries of Football Associations from the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Members of the NFF Executive Committee and management, along with representatives of the leagues, Coaches Association, Referees Association, and Players’ Union, will also be in attendance.
NFF President Ibrahim Musa Gusau (MON) will deliver a welcome address before Congress deliberates on amendments to the NFF Statutes, Electoral Code, and Standing Orders.
The assembly will also handle key appointments, while officials from FIFA and CAF are already in Nigeria to observe the proceedings.
