BBNaija lovebirds Bella, Sheggz confirm split after years together

Former Big Brother Naija housemates Bella Okagbue and Segun Olusemo, popularly known as Sheggz, have confirmed the end of their relationship after years together.

Bella made this known in a statement shared on her Instagram Story on Friday, days after Sheggz publicly disclosed that their relationship ended in January 2026.

The reality TV star said she initially chose to remain silent as people shared different accounts of their relationship, adding that she preferred to keep certain aspects of her private life away from public scrutiny.

Bella said she genuinely loved Sheggz and chose to give the relationship another chance because she believed people could change and grow.

“I loved genuinely. I defended the relationship because I believed in it at the time, and I chose to give someone I loved a second chance because I believe people can grow and change. That was my choice, and I own it,” she said.

However, she said believing in someone’s ability to change did not mean she had to wait indefinitely for such change to happen.

Bella also addressed discussions about marriage and an engagement ring, saying that wanting to marry someone she loved was not an act of desperation. She said recognising when a relationship was no longer suitable for marriage required courage and discernment.

Sheggz had earlier confirmed the breakup, saying the relationship ended in January after attempts to reconcile failed. He denied allegations of cheating and abuse, saying issues surrounding trust and respect eventually made it difficult for him to consider marriage.
