Bitcoin Pizza Day Fest to organize over 20 events in 15 African countries

The founder Crypto Bootcamp Community( CBC), and the pioneer Bitcoin Pizza Day Fest, Obinna Iwuno said the Pan-African event with an eye on the global landscape would organize over 20 events in fifteen different African countries through this year edition.
He noted this, while speaking to our correspondent in an exclusive chat. The CBC Boss, hinted that before now, his team had organized not less than 80 Bitcoin events with an outstanding impact on the Bitcoin ecosystem.
According to him, Bitcoin Pizza Day Fest, aimed at creating awareness, educating, onboarding, gathering Bitcoin enthusiast under a fun environment where they can network, come up with ideas on how to advance the Bitcoin ecosystem in Africa and expand the Bitcoin adoption.
Bitcoin Pizza Day Fest, also underscore the resilience efforts of the African spirit to start great things from a small place with a resonating effects globally. \
He opined that, the Crypto Bootcamp Community (CBC), will be celebrating the Bitcoin Pizza Day Fest in a more impactful way this year. The celebration will be premised on the understanding of its benefit to the African continent, how it activated the implementation of Blockchain technology and what we could do with it on the continent.
It means, we shall be driving people’s mind, attentions, information in the right direction. The Bitcoin Pizza Day Fest, was formerly known as Bitcoin Pizza Day Hangout, has onboarded more than 30,000 people, 60% of those onboarded are doing amazing things in the circular economy, while others are building industry related idea around the Bitcoin ecosystem.
While underscoring the importance of the event to the African continent and the global ecosystem, Obinna said, this year edition of the Bitcoin Pizza Day Fest celebration makes it the fourth edition in a row.His words, “ This is our fourth edition, we started the Bitcoin Pizza Day Fest in Africa and in the first year we had it in not less than 18 cities across four African countries. Although we started in Nigeria, we are a Pan-African community, and we are all over Africa. You can find us majorly in; the West African region, Eastern African region, Central African region and the Southern African region. Going historical and unveiling the rationale behind the celebration within the global context, Obinna said the Bitcoin Pizza Day Fest, points to how great things can start from a small place and resonates across the globe, providing education to the people, and creating awareness under a fun-filled environment. “The story of Bitcoin Pizza Day for us, is about how we did a great thing from a small place. Why we choose Bitcoin Pizza day as that one event for creating awareness for education, for onboarding, gathering Bitcoin enthusiast in one room under a fun environment where they can network, come up with ideas on how to advance the Bitcoin ecosystem in Africa and expand the Bitcoin adoption.
He also make passing reference to the giant steps of Laszlo Hanyecz who was a pathfinder in the Bitcoin global ecosystem by placing price values on Bitcoin. “The Impact of that story is what Laszlo Hanyecz did, although, many years after many people focus on the price of what 10,000 Bitcoin could have been worth today, forgetting that without what he did, there would not have been any price action to Bitcoin today.
For us, “we had to create an event around it to educate people properly because if we don’t, Bitcoin may end up as a price speculation in certain quarters and you would not blame the people because that was what was promoted, given to them and they would assume that the Bitcoin is for price speculation and come in speculating what the price of the Bitcoin would or could be. Again, “ we needed to address that and make it very clear that Bitcoin is not for price speculation and without what Laszlo Hanyecz did with the Bitcoin on that day, Bitcoin may not have even been able to reach the current value it is now, because that is what accelerated the growth in the value of Bitcoin. For instance, “That was the first time, that a value was assigned to Bitcoin, the first time it was used as medium of exchange for a physical good, and the first time the Bitcoin value transaction occurred.
“So for me, Laszlo, is a believer and legend not someone who wasted 10,000 worth of Bitcoin on two boxes of Pizzas and so we have to redefine that because we have seen the importance and the benefit of Bitcoin to the African continent and how it activated the implementation of Blockchain technology and what we could do with it on this continent. It means we need to drive people’s mind, attentions, information in the right direction and that is why we started “the Bitcoin Pizza Day Fest”
While highlighting the bigger dreams of Bitcoin Pizza Day Fest is to extend the frontiers of the event across the globe and ensure that more of Nigeria cities benefited massively from its offerings. He noted the organization envisioned more impact, influence, and aimed to cover the Africa continent and beyond in the shortest time possible with more strategic partnership and sponsorship from brands.
According to him, his team have enjoyed enormous support from organization such as; Tether, Plan B Network, Yellow Card, Celo, Tradefada , Alphageek Technologies, Quidax, Convexity, Roqqu, and CBC Blockchain ServicesOthers includes; Aeon, Akash Network, Sasomis Jackocoins , Vent, Fort Solar, Obiex, Satoshi Centre , ICP KE, Snapiro, Blockbuild, Gibchain, Jambo, BiTFI, and QUGO. Bitcoin Pizza Day Fest, is currently celebrated in West African region, Eastern African region, central African region and the Southern African region, whilst we are making frantic effort towards entering the Northern region of Africa.
This year, what we are doing at Crypto Bootcamp Community (CBC), is the Bitcoin Pizza Day Fest, because we have moved from a hangout to a festival, so it is not just talking about the Bitcoin Pizza Day, but also celebrating Bitcoin Pizza Day as it should. The convener, notes that soon a lot of initiatives such as “One Shatoshi at a time” which has been line up to tell the story of Bitcoin in the proper perspectives will be unveiled. “So you can watch out for “One Shatoshi at a time” we are going to be pushing it across the continent and it is going to be very massive. “We hope to keep pushing this thing and tell the story. it is beautiful to see that this year we have individuals now hosting Bitcoin Pizza Day hangouts, other brands are now using our slogan “Coming To A City Near You” to announce the Bitcoin Pizza Day and it’s beautiful because we are building a global community.
