Body of young woman discovered in Osogbo apartment

A young woman identified simply as Kemisola was on Thursday found dead in her apartment at the Jaleyemi area of Osogbo, Osun State.

The deceased, said to be an indigene of Igbajo in Boluwaduro Local Government Area, was reportedly discovered after a strange odour began coming from her room.

Sources in the area said Kemisola, a hair stylist who lived in a storey building, was suspected to have died on Monday before her decomposing body was discovered days later.

A neighbour, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said he first perceived the offensive odour on Tuesday evening but assumed it was caused by a dead rat around the building.

He explained that suspicion grew on Thursday morning after he noticed that the door to Kemisola’s apartment was open and repeated calls to her went unanswered.

The neighbour said he later entered the room and found her body lying on the bed in a decomposing state.

It was gathered that a phone was seen beside the deceased, while a knife and a bottle containing an unidentified substance were also found in the room.

The body was evacuated from the room in the presence of officers from the Osun State Police Command.
