BREAKING: Araba picks APC nomination form, joins Kwara governorship race
All Progressives Congress (APC) aspirant, Engr. Femi Sanni, popularly known as Araba, has formally picked his Expression of Interest and Nomination forms for the Kwara State governorship election.
Sanni obtained the forms on Tuesday at the Ladi Kwali Hall of the Abuja Continental Hotel, signalling his official entry into the race.
Speaking after picking the forms, he expressed appreciation to President Bola Tinubu for what he described as efforts to promote internal democracy within the APC.
“I want to sincerely thank President Bola Tinubu for creating an enabling environment where aspirants like myself can freely express their ambitions. What we are seeing today is a demonstration of true democratic values within our great party,” he said.
Sanni also commended Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, for providing what he termed a level playing field for all aspirants, regardless of political leaning or background.
He further appreciated the APC leadership at both state and national levels for ensuring a transparent and inclusive process ahead of the primaries.
The governorship hopeful said his decision to contest was driven by a desire to consolidate on existing gains while unlocking new economic opportunities for residents of the state.
According to him, consultations across the three senatorial districts of Kwara North, Central and South had been encouraging, adding that the race is expected to gather momentum in the coming weeks as party primaries approach.
