BREAKING: Fasoranti family vows to sustain nationwide scholarship scheme

The family of the late Afenifere leader, Pa Reuben Fasoranti, has vowed to sustain his scholarship foundation, which has been providing educational support to secondary school and university students across Nigeria.
The Secretary to the Ondo State Government, Taiwo Fasoranti, disclosed this while speaking with journalists on behalf of the family, saying the initiative would remain a major part of the elder statesman’s legacy.
Taiwo said the foundation was established when his father celebrated his 90th birthday and had since supported numerous students through scholarships awarded quietly across the country.
He said the family was committed to ensuring the scheme continued to expand its impact, stressing that the best way to honour the late Yoruba leader was to sustain his investment in education.
“Those of us who met him, his friends, his family members, colleagues and admirers should look for a child and educate that child. Sow into the lives of those people. Make sure people are educated,” he said.
The SSG described education as one of his father’s deepest convictions, noting that the elder statesman remained actively involved in educational activities and visited one of his schools just weeks before his death.
He also urged Nigerians to embrace community service and support people in need, saying his father believed that individuals should contribute to the development of the communities they served.
Taiwo said the family was grateful for the support it had received, adding that it would preserve his father’s legacy by promoting education, selflessness and service to humanity.
