BREAKING: Fayemi gets bail, out of EFCC hole

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has released former Ekiti State Governor Kayode Fayemi on bail after interrogating him over an alleged N4billion fraud.

WesternPost had earlier reported that the former governor was drilled by operatives of the Commission at their Ilorin zonal office to answer questions relating to his time in office.

Fayemi’s media office had earlier refuted reports he was being probed over a N4billion fraud allaegations.

In a statement by the Head of Fayemi Media Team, Ahmad Sajoh, no allegation like that came up for discussion.

“Throughout his tenure, Dr. Fayemi served the people of Ekiti State with utmost dedication and is renowned for his principled leadership.

“As governor, he consistently demonstrated a profound commitment to the welfare of the citizens, driving notable advancements in infrastructure development and attracting valuable investment opportunities to the state,” Sajoh said.

However, contrary to the claim by his media office that he was allowed to go after a few hours, Fayemi was released on administrative bail at about 11:30pm Friday night after intervention by some APC leaders with connection to the Presidency.
