BREAKING: Finland court sentences Simon Ekpa to six years for terrorism, tax fraud

A Finnish court has sentenced Simon Ekpa, the self-acclaimed Prime Minister of Biafra Government in Exile, to six years in prison after finding him guilty of terrorism-related offences and financial crimes.
The Päijät-Häme District Court convicted Ekpa of inciting a public crime committed with terrorist intent, participating in the activities of a terrorist group, aggravated tax fraud, and violating provisions of the Attorneys Act.
According to the court, Ekpa sought to advance the independence of the Biafra region in southeastern Nigeria through illegal means between August 2021 and November 2024. Judges noted that he leveraged social media platforms to build political influence and mobilize support.
The court also ruled that armed groups linked to his movement were terrorist organizations. Ekpa was found to have supplied the groups with weapons, explosives, and ammunition through his network of contacts, while also using his X (formerly Twitter) account to incite and encourage followers to commit crimes in Nigeria.
