BREAKING: Isolo kingmakers elect abroad-trained optician, Jimmy as new Osolo
The four kingmakers in the ancient town of Isolo in Lagos State, have elected an abroad-trained Optician, Prince Jimmy Adetokunbo Yekini-Goloba as the new Osolo of Isolo town.
Yekini-Goloba is the son of His Royal Majesty Yekini Goloba who was the town’s monarch between 1988 and 2004.
He is a professional optician who had both his primary and secondary education in Isolo before going abroad for his Tertiary education.
It would be recalled that the immediate past Osolo, His Royal Majesty Kabiru Agbabiaka joined his ancestors in April 2024 after 20years on the throne.
In Isolo kingdom, there are three ruling houses, namely – the Adeola Olushi Olugbesa royal family, the Alagbeji royal family, and the Okota royal family.
The Isolo Kingmakers are; Chief Mukaila Adesegun Agbabiaka ( Jagun Aluko), Chief Rahman Mustapha (Afobaje Ogodo), Chief Rasak Onikosi ( Osuro family) and Chief Saka Omotoba (Omotoba family).
According to a reliable source who is familiar with the selection process, Prince Yekini-Goloba was unanimously chosen by the four Kingmakers who screened all the 15 aspirants to the stool.
It was gathered that four families which made up the Alagbeji Ruling House set up their own screening committee which screened the aspirants and present their names to the Kingmakers.
