By Boye Oyeyemi –
The secretary of an LCDA in Akoko North-West Local Government Area, Joseph Kayode Aladesuyi, who was abducted by suspected kidnappers a few days ago, has regained his freedom after the payment of an undisclosed ransom.
Aladesuyi was reportedly kidnapped at Ilu-Abo in Akure North Local Government Area, near the Akure Airport.
The victim, who hails from Irun-Akoko, was said to have been abducted while working on his farm in the area.
A family source confirmed his release on Friday, saying the politician had been reunited with his relatives after the ransom demanded by the abductors was paid.
Aladesuyi, an agro-investor and Chief Executive Officer of JOTINA Farms, had been held captive by the gunmen since the incident occurred earlier in the week.
The development has brought relief to his family members and associates who had been anxious over his safety since his abduction.
Efforts to get an official response from security authorities on the circumstances surrounding his release were still ongoing as of the time of filing this report.
