BREAKING: Kwankwaso visits suspended Senator Ningi

The presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) in the 2023 general elections, Sen. Rabiu Kwankwaso, on Monday evening paid a solidarity visit to the suspended Senator Abdul Ahmed Ningi (Bauchi Central).

It would be recalled that Ningi accused the Senate of padding the 2024 budget with N3.7trn.

He was suspended for three months by the Senate after he could not prove the allegation during plenary session.

Meanwhile, the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) had faulted the Senate for suspending the Senator representing Bauchi Central Senatorial District, Senator Abdul Ningi over his allegation of budget padding, calling on the senate to act with more circumspection and sensitivity in processing criticism of its operations.

The forum expressed support for the suspended senator over his allegation of budget padding and claim that the 2024 budget is unfavourable to the North.

Also, Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State had thrown his weight behind Ningi.

Speaking during the State Executive Council meeting at the Government House, Bauchi, on Wednesday, Mohammed said, “yesterday I was very sad the Senate suspended one of our best from Bauchi for saying the truth, for standing up to be the beacon of the truth.”

“Equally I don’t know what we will do but we will discuss privately to see what we can do to support him because I support whatever he is doing and that is our best position especially if what he saying is the truth,”
