BREAKING: Lagos Assembly swears-in Age-Sulaimon as replacement to LP’s Doherty

The Lagos state House of Assembly has sworn-in the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for Amuwo-Odofin Constituency 2, Hon. Rauf Age-Suleiman, to replace the Labour Party (LP) lawmaker, Hon. Kayode Doherty.
WesternPost had reported that the Court of Appeal few weeks ago threw away the suit of the LP lawmaker challenging the judgement of the Electon Tribunal which was in favour of APC’s Age-Sulaimon.
Age-Suleiman took the oath on Wednesday duriing plenary session before the Speaker of the House, Rt (Hon) Mudashiru Obasa and other lawmakers.
Obasa, while welcoming him, urged the lawmaker to cooperate with his colleagues, loyal to the House of Assembly and constantly represent the interest of Amuwo-Odofin constituency 2.
He hinted that the House would reshuffle its standing Committees’ leadership to accommodate the lawmaker, saying he is a ranking member.
Obasa also congratulated the governor, the APC and the people of Amuwo-Odofin saying that with the oath of office, the ruling party now has 39 members in the House.
The newly sworn-in lawmaker was in the House in 2019, thereby making him a ranking member.
