BREAKING: Lion kills worker at Obasanjo Presidential Library zoo
A zoo worker at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library, Abeokuta, Babaji Daule, was on Saturday killed by a lion. The Ogun State Police Command, confirmed the incident on Sunday.
The spokesman for the state police command, Omolola Odutola, disclosed this in a statement.
It was reported that the 35-year-old lion handler, failed to lock and bar the lion’s cage before going to feed the animal.
According to reports, this gave the lion free rein to assault the handler, inflicting injuries to his neck and ultimately leading to his demise.
The lion was reportedly shot to break free of its hold on the handler as the victim’s body was removed and transported to the mortuary at Ijaye General Hospital.
