BREAKING: Nigerian governors hold closed door meeting in Abuja

Governors of the 36 States of the federation have convened in Abuja.

Under the aegis of the Nigerian Governors Forum, they met at the NGF secretariat in the FCT.

Those present at the venue were Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos, Governor Hope Uzodinma, Governor Bassey Otu, Governor Dapo Abiodun, Governor Abdulrahman AbdulRazaq, and Governor Oyebanji of Ekiti.

Others were Governors Lawal Dauda (Zamfara), Bala Mohammed (Bauchi), Caleb Mutfwang (Plateau), Sheriff Oborevwori (Delta), Alex Otti (Abia) and many more.

It was gathered that governors of Enugu, Peter Mbah and Borno States, Babagana Zulum, sent their deputies to represent them.

The agenda of the meeting not known.

However the governors at the last meeting had promised to give Nigerian workers a fair minimum wage, and this is the first public meeting of the forum since President Bola Tinubu approved a N70,000 minimum wage.

As a forum, the governors are also likely to comment on the raging debate about the planned nationwide protest against bad governance as well as the recent Supreme Court judgement on local government autonomy.
