BREAKING: Ondo lawmaker dumps PDP for APC

By Boye Oyeyemi –

A member of the Ondo State House of Assembly representing Akoko South West Constituency II, Hon. Tope Akeem Agbulu, has officially defected from the Peoples Democratic Party to the All Progressives Congress.

Agbulu announced his resignation from the PDP and switch to the ruling APC during Tuesday’s plenary session of the state Assembly.

Agbulu’s defection was contained in a statement signed by his media office and obtained by WESTERN POST.

Explaining the reason behind his decision, the lawmaker attributed his defection to the prolonged internal crisis rocking the PDP.

He said he reached the conclusion after wide consultations with constituents, leaders, elders, youths and women in his constituency, who backed his move.

Agbulu assured his supporters that his defection would enable him to deliver better representation and accelerate grassroots development in Akoko South West Constituency II.

While expressing gratitude to members of the PDP for their support in the past, the lawmaker also commended the APC for welcoming him warmly into the party.

He described the ruling party as a platform that would help him consolidate gains for his people.
