A chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Oluyole Local Government Area of Oyo State, Alhaji Ganiyu Olanrewaju, popularly known as ‘Baba DG,’ has passed away.
Olanrewaju’s death was confirmed by the executive chairman of Oluyole LG, Asiwaju Akeem Olatunji, in a condolence message on Tuesday.
The circumstances surrounding his death remain unknown at the time of filing this report.
While mourning the deceased, the LG chairman recalled the late PDP leader’s role in uniting party members and fostering political stability in the local government.
“Baba DG was more than a party leader; he was a father figure and an epitome of hope to many. His contributions to the PDP and Oluyole Local Government will forever remain in our hearts,” Olatunji said.
He further noted that Baba DG’s passing had left a void that would be difficult to fill and urged party members to honor his memory by continuing the work he passionately dedicated his life to.
