BREAKING: Police arrest Rochas at Abuja hotel over alleged forgery, impersonation
Former Imo State Governor, Senator Rochas Okorocha, has been arrested by operatives of the Nigeria Police Force over allegations of criminal conspiracy, forgery and impersonation.
Okorocha was reportedly arrested on Monday night, October 12, 2026, at REIZ Continental Hotel in central Abuja.
The arrest followed his alleged failure to honour repeated police invitations in connection with an ongoing criminal investigation, prompting the police to obtain a bench warrant for his arrest.
The former governor was initially invited to the Force Headquarters in Abuja on September 2, 2026, but the appointment was rescheduled to September 8 at the request of his lawyers.
He reportedly failed to honour the rescheduled invitation, leading to further steps by the police to secure his arrest.
