A Lagos State Government mobile clinic provided healthcare services to 791 residents of Agboyi Ori-Omi between January and September 2026 under the EKO Social Health Alliance (EKOSHA) Rural Health Scheme.
The Permanent Secretary of the Lagos State Health Management Agency (LASHMA), Dr Emmanuella Zamba, disclosed this at a town hall meeting with residents, noting that 2,546 people had enrolled in the scheme since its introduction in the community.
She said the programme had facilitated 276 referrals to Mascara Primary Health Centre, Ketu, and Gbagada General Hospital at no additional cost to enrollees. Patients living with hypertension and diabetes also receive free monthly refill medications.
According to Zamba, the mobile clinic conducted 410 malaria screenings during the period, with 66 returning positive results. She urged residents to undergo testing before taking malaria medication.
The Olu of Agboyi Kingdom, Oba Monsuru Abimbola Adekanbi Oladega, commended the state government for bringing healthcare services closer to residents and appealed for the programme to be sustained to enable more people to benefit.
Zamba explained that the scheme targets underserved communities and hard-to-reach areas without functional primary healthcare centres.
She assured residents that the mobile clinic services and transportation for referred patients would continue while the community awaits a functional primary healthcare centre.
The Chairman of Agboyi-Ketu LCDA, Adetola Aduni Abubakar, represented by the council secretary, Tajudeen Akinyemi, also commended LASHMA and called for the prompt resolution of complaints to improve access to healthcare services.
