BREAKING: President Tinubu signs four landmark tax reform bills into law

President Bola Tinubu on Thursday signed into law four major tax reform bills aimed at overhauling Nigeria’s fiscal framework, boosting revenue generation, and improving the overall business environment.

The signing ceremony took place at the State House in Abuja, marking a significant milestone in the administration’s economic reform agenda.

The newly signed laws are the Nigeria Tax Bill, the Nigeria Tax Administration Bill, the Nigeria Revenue Service (Establishment) Bill, and the Joint Revenue Board (Establishment) Bill. All four bills were recently passed by the National Assembly following wide-ranging consultations with stakeholders from both the public and private sectors.

In attendance at the signing were the Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum and Governor of Kwara State, Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq; the Chairman of the Progressives Governors’ Forum and Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodinma; and the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun.

Also present was the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Lateef Fagbemi.
