Bukky Wright recounts separation from children, opens up on marriage, career

Veteran Nollywood actress Bukky Wright has opened up about her personal and marital experiences during a panel session at a recent event.

The actress made a heartfelt revelation at the Scar2Shine panel session, disclosing that her children were taken from her at a young age after she married into a wealthy family, which prompted her career pursuit in acting so her children could someday locate her when they grew up.

The actress further revealed that her in-laws did not believe she would become successful, noting that her initial interest in acting was not to pursue stardom but a strategic move to make her reunion with her children easier.

Speaking about her career, Wright explained that she goes on and off the screen, acting while also pursuing other careers, and is now a Senior Information Security Auditor in the United States, having ventured into cybersecurity.

On her recent nomination for Best Supporting Actress, she said she did not expect the massive support she received as a result of her unavailability. However, she does not engage in competition and stays away from social gatherings to enable her to reflect on herself while building her other careers.

The actress, who has since reunited with her children in spite of the early separation, revealed that her children encouraged her recent return to the film industry.

During a recent interview with BBC Yoruba, Bukky Wright expressed her interest in getting married again, while reflecting on her personal life, challenges she faced while living abroad, and her return to acting.
