The Oyo State Government has directed the reopening of schools in Oriire, Oyo East, Surulere, and Olorunsogo Local Government Areas following the deployment of additional security operatives to affected communities.

The decision was announced in a statement issued by the Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board (OYOSUBEB) through its Executive Chairman, Dr. Nureni Aderemi Adeniran.

According to the statement, the move follows a comprehensive security review carried out after the recent incident in Ahoro-Esinele community.

The government said security agencies have assured sustained surveillance and protection across the affected areas.

Dr. Adeniran noted that the safety of pupils and teachers remains a top priority, adding that coordinated efforts of security operatives under the direction of the commissioner of police have strengthened safety measures in schools within the axis.

He said academic activities will resume next Monday without fear, while the government continues to monitor the situation in collaboration with local authorities and community stakeholders.

Parents and guardians were urged to remain calm and avoid spreading unverified information, as the government assured residents of continuous updates where necessary.
