The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has listed Eritrean trio Tsegay Mogos Teklu, Michael Eyobel, and Samuel Menghis Sirak to officiate Tuesday’s 2026 World Cup qualifying match between Nigeria and Zimbabwe in Uyo.
Teklu Mogos Tsegay, a no-nonsense referee, will be at the center of the encounter.
This will be the third match Tsegay officiates in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
He previously officiated Lesotho’s goalless draw with Benin Republic and Mozambique’s 2-1 victory over Somalia.
Known for his strict officiating style, he has a reputation for frequently issuing yellow cards. In two 2025 AFCON qualifying matches, he handed out eight yellow cards.
He will be assisted by compatriots Eyobel Michael and Menghis Sirak Samuel. Ghanaian Prosper Harrison Addo will serve as the match commissioner, while Paulin Ilboudo from Burkina Faso will be the referee assessor.
