Celebrity designer Veekee James welcomes first child

Popular Nigerian fashion designer Veekee James Atere has announced the arrival of her first child with her husband, Mr Femi Atere.

The celebrity designer took to her Instagram page on Wednesday to reveal that her daughter, Eliana, was born on May 2, 2026.

Explaining the meaning of her daughter’s name, she wrote: “Eliana Adeife Atere. El (God) and Ana (He has answered),” in reference to her testimony after a waiting period.

Quoting from 1 Samuel 1:27, she further expressed gratitude over the birth of the child, writing: “For this child I prayed; and the Lord hath given me my petition, which I asked of him.”

The couple, who got married in 2024, had earlier announced that they were expecting their first child together after a period of waiting.

They also shared emotional moments from their pregnancy journey with the public, including the discovery of the pregnancy.
