CHAN Eagles’ opponents to be revealed Wednesday

Nigeria’s Super Eagles B will learn their opponents for next month’s African Nations Championship (CHAN) on Wednesday.

The 8th edition of the competition, organized primarily for players in the continent’s domestic leagues, will take place in three countries: Tanzania, Kenya, and Uganda.

Nigeria will join 17 other nations to compete for honors in the tournament, scheduled to hold from February 1 to 28, 2025.

In addition to Nigeria, the host nations Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania, the other participating countries are Morocco, Burkina Faso, Angola, Zambia, Mauritania, Rwanda, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Guinea, Madagascar, Niger, Senegal, the Central African Republic, Congo, and Sudan.

According to CAF, the draw for the championship will take place in Kenya at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre, Nairobi.

Meanwhile, the Nigerian team, led by coaches Daniel Ogunmodede and Fidelis Ilechukwu, will officially begin preparations for the tournament on Monday, January 6.

The coaches have invited 26 players for camping at the Remo Stars Sports Institute in Ikenne, Ogun State.

Nigeria secured their qualification for the championship by defeating the Black Galaxies of Ghana 3-1 on aggregate.
