CHAN: Togolese, Moroccan officials appointed for Nigeria-Ghana qualifiers

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has named match officials from Togo and Morocco for the two-legged 8th African Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifying matches between the senior B teams of Ghana and Nigeria.
The first leg is scheduled for Sunday, December 22, 2024, at the Accra Sports Stadium in Ghana, while the return leg will take place on Saturday, December 28, 2024, at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo, Nigeria.
Togolese referee Aklesso Gnama will officiate the first encounter, with compatriots Jonathan Ahonto Koffi and Wassiou Tchamolla Ourotou serving as assistant referees, while Kossi Fabrice Senyo will act as the fourth official.
Liberia’s Ivan Gator Brown has been appointed as the match commissioner, and Beninese official Hugues Alain Adjovi will serve as the referee assessor.
For the second leg, Moroccan referee Hamza El Fariq will take charge, assisted by Abdessamad Abertoune and Zakaria Bouchtaoui, with Hicham Temsamani serving as the fourth official. Prince Kai Saquee from Sierra Leone will be the match commissioner, while Miboti Moise from the Democratic Republic of Congo will act as referee assessor.
The first leg in Accra will kick off at 4:00 p.m. Ghana time (5:00 p.m. Nigerian time), while the return leg in Uyo will commence at 5:00 p.m. Nigerian time.
The winner on aggregate will secure a spot in the 8th CHAN finals, scheduled to take place from February 1 to 28, 2025. Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania will co-host the tournament, using it as a dress rehearsal to test facilities and equipment for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), which they are also set to host.
