Chelle set to unveil Super Eagles squad for World Cup qualifiers

Super Eagles of Nigeria head coach Eric Sekou Chelle is expected to return to the country this week to begin preparations for the upcoming World Cup qualifier games against Rwanda and Zimbabwe, according to reports.
Chelle was appointed last month with the task of getting Nigeria’s World Cup qualification campaign back on track after a poor start, which has seen them play four games without a win and sit four points behind group leaders Rwanda.
In March, the Eagles will return to action with an away game against Rwanda before hosting Zimbabwe at home three days later. Chelle is expected back in Nigeria after a visit to Europe, where he held discussions with certain players in the team.
Upon his return, the Malian tactician is expected to submit a preliminary list of 35 players to the technical department of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), which will review the list before sending out invitation letters.
Only 25 players will make the final squad for both games, and their names will be made public by the NFF a week before the match.
