A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Adebisi Akande, has praised President Bola Tinubu’s economic reforms, describing them as a “child of necessity” aimed at eradicating bad governance and liberating Nigeria from years of political mismanagement and poor leadership.

Speaking at his 86th birthday celebration in Ila-Orangun, Osun State, Akande reaffirmed his confidence in Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda. He noted its positive impact on the nation’s economy and expressed optimism that Nigeria would soon become a model for other countries to emulate.

Akande, a former APC National Chairman, emphasized that the party was established to restore good governance in Nigeria. He commended Tinubu’s administration for its tireless efforts toward achieving this goal.

“Today, I am happy that our great party is working tirelessly to liberate Nigeria and permanently end the bad governance that plagued the country for years. So, I am fulfilled and have no regrets. The APC was formed as a political party to remove the bad governance Nigerians endured for years, and the work is ongoing,” Akande said.

He added: “The APC under former President Buhari did eight years, and now under President Bola Tinubu, it is in its second year. The goal is to correct the bad governance of the past so Nigeria can get back on track.

“Nigerians should appreciate that while we are not there yet, every individual’s pride should be rooted in honesty. We must strive to be honest with our country, avoid fraud, and do things the right way for Nigeria to move forward.

“President Bola Tinubu’s policy aims to liberate Nigeria from its current challenges and set the nation on a path to prosperity. In a few years, we’ll see the positive impact of his policies.”

Akande also stressed the importance of proper education for children to ensure a better future for Nigeria. He urged parents and guardians to prioritize quality education for their children.

In a lecture delivered at the event, Dr. Adeoye Oyewole, a Psychiatric Mental Health Practitioner, called on Nigerians to reprioritize their needs in light of current socioeconomic realities. He emphasized the importance of health financing, family, and education.

The celebration was graced by dignitaries, including Professor Olu Aina, founding Registrar of the National Business and Technical Education Board (NABTEB), and Prince Tunde Ponle, Chairman of MicCom Golf and Resort. They described Akande as a phenomenon worthy of emulation and urged young Nigerians interested in politics to adopt his exemplary qualities of honesty and transparency in leadership.
