The President and founder of LoveWorld Incorporated, also known as Christ Embassy, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, has characterized the recent fire at the church’s headquarters as a stepping stone to greater achievements.

WesternPost had reported that Fire caught the Christ Embassy Headquarters in Lagos on Sunday morning.

During a live Sunday service at the church’s campground in Asese, Pastor Oyakhilome addressed the incident, which had captured widespread attention on social media with videos of the blaze at the Oregun, Ikeja building.

“Nothing happens in the life of a child of God by accident,” Pastor Oyakhilome said. Reflecting on past challenges, he recounted the 2001 Ikeja cantonment bombing incident when the church building was severely shaken.

He stated that despite fears of collapse, the structure remained intact, adding that Engineers assessed the damage and deemed it safe, negating the need for rebuilding at that time.

Drawing a parallel to the current situation, Pastor Oyakhilome expressed optimism and determination.

“Now that this has happened, we will build a bigger, better, and more glorious one, and the devil will lick his wounds,” he declared.

Emergency responders from the Lagos Fire Service were promptly on the scene, and there were no reports of casualties.
