City Boy Movement targets one million votes for Tinubu in Ondo

The City Boy Movement, an All Progressives Congress support group in Ondo State, has set a target of more than one million votes for President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.

The group announced the target on Tuesday during a mobilisation rally in Ikare-Akoko, Akoko South-West Local Government Area of the state, where it also urged residents to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards and participate actively in the election.

The state director of the movement, Oluwafemi Ayejusunle, said the group was expanding its mobilisation beyond APC members to residents across political affiliations who were willing to support Tinubu.

Ayejusunle said the target was based on the movement’s assessment of the state’s voter population, adding that it was working to mobilise people who did not participate actively in previous elections.

He expressed confidence that Tinubu would secure a second term, saying Nigerians were increasingly becoming aware of what he described as the administration’s policies and achievements.

Similarly, the Ondo North coordinator of the movement, Tajudeen Ogun, said the group was mobilising support for Tinubu because of what he described as the administration’s development efforts in Ondo State and across the country.

Ogun urged residents to come out and vote rather than stay away from the polls or allow themselves to be influenced by monetary inducements, adding that the movement was determined to achieve its one-million-vote target for Tinubu in the state.

The Ikare Coordinator, Sanusi Bashiru, said mobilisation efforts were being intensified in the area, while the movement’s Women Leader, Owoeye Dele, said women were also supporting the campaign. Community leaders, high chiefs Mufutau Lawal and Bello Mukaila, urged politicians and voters to shun violence and ensure peaceful elections.
