CityBoy Movement denies alleged blasphemous comments attributed to Seyi Tinubu

The CityBoy Movement has dismissed as false and malicious a social media post alleging that Seyi Tinubu made blasphemous remarks concerning God and the 2027 presidential election.

In a statement issued on Monday by the group’s Deputy Director General for Communication and Public Affairs, O’tega Ogra, the organisation said the comments circulating online were fabricated and never made by Tinubu.

“The attribution is entirely false. It is malicious in intent, reckless in circulation and dangerous in consequence,” the statement read.

The movement made the disclaimer in reaction to a social media comment by Albab Abdullahi” who alleged that Seyi Tinubu claimed “not even God” could stop his father, President Bola Tinubu, from completing eight years in power.

In its reaction, the group said the controversial remarks were contained in a social media post allegedly authored by one “Albaabu Abudulahi” and falsely linked to the president’s son.

According to the statement, Seyi Tinubu “has never made such a statement at any time, in any place, through any channel, or under any circumstance whatsoever.”

The CityBoy Movement described Tinubu as “a man of faith” who believes that “all power belongs to God alone” and that authority can only be exercised through divine grace and permission.

“He has never insulted, mocked, questioned or diminished the supremacy of Almighty God or Allah, and will never do so,” the statement added.

The organisation also reaffirmed Tinubu’s support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027, while stressing that political ambitions remain subject to the will of God.
