‘Collaboration, not antagonism, is how we win’ — NNPC GCEO Ojulari

The Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO) of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd.), Mr. Bashir Bayo Ojulari, has reaffirmed his commitment to building strong partnerships with key stakeholders to deliver on the strategic mandate entrusted to him by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Ojulari made this known during a courtesy visit to the Minister of Petroleum Resources (Oil), Senator Heineken Lokpobiri, on Wednesday, where both leaders aligned on a shared vision for transforming Nigeria’s oil and gas sector.
During the visit, Ojulari emphasized that his leadership team is entering office with a spirit of collaboration and a determination to make a lasting impact.
He highlighted the importance of synergy between NNPC Ltd., the Ministry of Petroleum Resources, the Ministry of Finance, and other institutions to overcome bureaucratic challenges and fast-track progress.
“We are here with a mindset of partnership—with the Ministry of Petroleum Resources, the Ministry of Finance, and other critical stakeholders. Our goal is to bridge gaps, foster alignment, and move forward with a united front. Antagonism benefits no one; collaboration is how we win,” he said.
Responding, Senator Lokpobiri expressed confidence in Ojulari and his executive team, describing it as one of the strongest leadership teams NNPC Ltd. has assembled.
“This is arguably the strongest leadership team NNPC Ltd. has ever had,” Lokpobiri said. “Now is the time to translate that strength into measurable results—especially in boosting crude oil production and ensuring the sector delivers optimal value to Nigerians.”
The Minister pledged his full support and strategic guidance, assuring that his office would work closely with the NNPC to create an enabling environment for growth and efficiency.
