Colourful Osun Osogbo Festival draws thousands amid tight security

The 2025 Osun Osogbo Festival came to a colourful climax on Friday, attracting thousands of worshippers, tourists, and cultural enthusiasts from across Nigeria and beyond.
The internationally recognised event, held annually at the Sacred Osun Grove in Osogbo, featured peaceful celebrations, a strong security presence, and moments of reflection on the prevailing economic challenges in the state and the nation.
Security agencies, including the Nigerian Police, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), and the Amotekun Corps, were strategically deployed to maintain public order and safeguard participants.
The festival also benefited the local economy, with artisans, traders, and food vendors recording high patronage from visitors.
Cultural performers, traditional drummers, and folklore singers added vibrancy to the day’s activities, ensuring a lively and memorable celebration.
