Court orders DSS to grant Nnamdi Kanu access to medical records, doctors of choice

A Federal High Court in Abuja has directed the Department of State Services (DSS) to provide Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), with access to his medical records and the freedom to choose his doctors.

Judge Binta Nyako, who presided over the case, delivered the judgment on Thursday, dismissing the objections raised by the DSS, deeming them lacking in merit.

The case, with the reference FHC/ABJ/CS/ 2341/2022, saw Kanu’s plea to the court to grant him an order of mandamus compelling the DSS to allow him access to his medical doctor and other related requests.
