An Akure Magistrate’s Court has ordered the remand of a man, Musa Bolade, at the Olokuta Correctional Centre over his alleged involvement in a kidnapping case in Ondo State.
Bolade was arraigned by the Ondo State Security Network Agency, popularly known as the Amotekun Corps, on a one-count charge bordering on alleged kidnapping.
The prosecutor, Precious Nwanfor, told the court that the defendant allegedly committed the offence on June 24, 2026, at about 4 p.m. at Igbojoko Camp, Shagari Village, in Owo Local Government Area of the state.
According to the prosecution, Bolade allegedly participated in activities linked to kidnapping, an offence punishable under Section 8 of the Ondo State Anti-Kidnapping and Anti-Abduction Law, 2010.
Nwanfor urged the court to remand the defendant in custody pending legal advice from the office of the director of public prosecutions, saying the matter required further legal review before trial could proceed.
Counsel for the defendant, Peaceman Jemine, sought an adjournment to enable the defence file the necessary application in response to the charge.
Ruling on the applications, Magistrate Damilola Sekoni adjourned the case until July 29, 2026, for further proceedings.
The magistrate also ordered that Bolade be remanded at the Olokuta Correctional Centre pending the receipt of legal advice from the director of public prosecutions.
