Two suspects have been remanded in a correctional facility over an alleged defilement of minors in Ondo State following their arraignment before a Magistrate Court in Akure.
This development was disclosed by the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Ondo State Command, in a statement issued on Tuesday by its Public Relations Officer, Daniel Aidamenbor.
The suspects, identified as Emeka Chidi Innocent, 22, and Ayodele John, 38, were said to have been arrested in connection with separate incidents that occurred on March 3 and April 14, 2026.
According to the NSCDC, the court, after reviewing the evidence presented, held that a prima facie case had been established against the defendants, adding that both offenders were arraigned on April 21, 2026, before Chief Magistrate Lebi Taiwo Olalekan at the Magistrate Court sitting in Oke Eda, Akure.
“The Command has charged the suspects to court after concluding preliminary investigations into the allegations,” the statement read.
“Following the arraignment, the court ordered that both suspects be remanded in a correctional facility pending further proceedings,” it added.
The cases were subsequently adjourned to May 5 and May 21, 2026, respectively, for continuation of hearing.
