Court sacks Osun LG chairmen, councillors

Justice Nathaniel Emmanuel Ayoola of the Federal High Court sitting in Osogbo, Osun State, on Friday sacked all the chairmen and councillors elected into the local governments across the state.
The court held that the election conducted by the Osun State Independent Electoral Commission (OSIEC), was in contravention of Section 29 & 32 of the Electoral Act, 2022.
It would be recalled that OSIEC on Saturday, October 15, 2022 conducted elections into the 69 Local Government Areas, Local Council Development Areas, Area Councils and Area Offices in the state.
