CPWB charges Lagos Council Chairmen to invest in spiritual growth of residents

The Board Secretary of Lagos State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board (CPWB), Dr. Gbolabo Okudero, has charged Council Chairmen to invest in the spiritual growth of their residents, urging them not to focus solely on socio-economic development.

Okudero emphasised the importance of a holistic approach to governance.

He made these remarks when he led a delegation to Mushin Local Government, Isolo and Ejigbo Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) on awareness campaign in preparation for the 2025 Christian pilgrimage.

At Mushin Local Government, the team was warmly received by the Chairman, Emmanuel Bamgboye. In Isolo and Ejigbo LCDAs, the CPWB delegation was hosted by the respective Council Managers, Mrs. Ogabi M.F (Isolo) and Dr. Olusegun Ajaguna (Ejigbo), who represented their Chairmen – Otunba Adebayo Olasoju and Honourable Monsurudeen Oloyede Bello, respectively.

“Spiritual well-being is vital to building a complete individual and a morally upright society,” Okudero added.

He also shared the Board’s strategic plans for the 2025 pilgrimage and appealed for collaborative efforts in promoting pilgrimage participation among Christians in their communities.

The sensitisation exercise signals the beginning of CPWB’s mobilisation efforts for the 2025 pilgrimage, reinforcing the Board’s commitment to fostering spiritual enrichment across Lagos State.
