Afropop star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has officially launched the “Imole Youth Mobilisation” campaign council in Osun State ahead of the August 2026 governorship election.

The singer announced the development via his Instagram page on Wednesday, disclosing that the launch followed his obtaining an Accord Party membership card in preparation for the forthcoming governorship election in the state.

Davido further stated that the move was in support of the re-election bid of his uncle, Governor Ademola Adeleke.

The singer expressed optimism about the outcome of the election, noting that the current administration led by his uncle “is one that the people of Osun love so much… as it stands now, all things being fair, it will be a walkover in Jesus’ name”.

Corroborating the development, Governor Adeleke, in an Instagram post on Tuesday, announced Davido’s arrival in the state and welcomed him into the campaign activities.

Citing Davido’s contributions to previous election campaigns, the governor revealed that the singer is now the chairman of his campaign committee for the 2026 election, stressing that he possesses the energy, influence and passion needed to mobilise the youth population.

Speaking on his achievements in office, Adeleke added that his administration has implemented policies and programmes that support youth growth and development across all sectors of the state.

He concluded by assuring Osun indigenes of his unwavering commitment to their welfare and prosperity, emphasising that their interests remain the priority of his administration.
