Defections: Osun Commissioners, Special Advisers reaffirm loyalty to Governor Adeleke

The Osun State Executive Council, comprising Commissioners and Special Advisers, has reaffirmed its total loyalty and unwavering support for Governor Ademola Adeleke.

At a press conference held in Osogbo on Monday, the Council members unanimously pledged their continued allegiance to Governor Adeleke and the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) under the leadership of Hon. Sunday Bisi.

Speaking on behalf of the Commissioners and Special Advisers, Barr. Dosu Babatunde, Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, strongly dismissed recent speculations about a possible mass defection from the PDP to other political parties, describing the rumors as careless and unguarded.

Babatunde, who also serves as Secretary of the Forum of Commissioners in the state, emphasized their commitment to standing firmly behind Governor Adeleke in his efforts to transform Osun State and deliver good governance.

The Commissioners and Special Advisers further stressed that no amount of political shenanigans by opposition party members would derail the Governor’s good intentions for the people of Osun State.

According to them, “Your Excellency, Mr. Governor, we are using this opportunity to further affirm and reaffirm our love and unshakable solidarity with you and your administration in Osun State.

“We reiterate that no amount of political gerrymandering, as currently being hatched by opposition party members, will make us party to destroying the house (PDP) we fought tooth and nail to build.”

They concluded by expressing confidence that, come 2026, the people of Osun State would once again ensure Senator Ademola Adeleke’s return as Governor.
