‘Don’t manipulate results,’ aspirant warns APC leaders ahead of party primaries

A House of Representatives aspirant under the All Progressives Congress in Ekiti State, Victor Olumuyiwa Kolade, has cautioned party leaders against manipulating Friday’s National Assembly primary election results ahead of the 2027 polls.

Kolade, popularly known as VOK, who is contesting for the Ekiti Central Federal Constituency II seat, said any attempt to favour a particular aspirant could threaten unity within the ruling party.

The former Special Adviser on Social Investment Programmes to ex-Governor Kayode Fayemi spoke on Thursday during an interaction with members of the Correspondents’ Chapel in Ado-Ekiti.

In his address, he alleged that there were threats of imposition within the party, warning that writing election results would undermine the APC’s democratic process.

“Karounwi has been telling people that results will be written and that votes will not count. They should not try it. It is an expensive joke,” Kolade said.

He added that If the party wants to move forward, leaders must create a level playing field for all aspirants. APC should allow justice, equity and unity to prevail.

Kolade also alleged that some of his supporters were attacked and detained for allegedly refusing to support another aspirant, Oladapo Karounwi, describing the action as intimidation.

Reacting, the Ekiti APC spokesperson, Segun Dipe, denied claims that Governor Biodun Oyebanji or the party had endorsed any aspirant, insisting that the APC remained committed to internal democracy and fairness for all contestants.
