A total of 1,600 personnel of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Osun State have been deployed to strategic locations across the state to ensure a safe and hitch-free Easter celebration.

The State Commandant, Igbalawole Sotiyo, in a statement signed by the command’s spokesperson, ASC Kehinde Adeleke, assured residents of the command’s readiness to safeguard lives and property during and after the festivities.

Sotiyo noted that operatives have been stationed at strategic locations across the state, including markets, worship centres, recreational facilities, and other public places, stressing that the command is committed to providing adequate security.

He said, “This deployment is aimed at preventing any potential security breaches and ensuring that the good people of Osun State can celebrate Easter without any disruptions.

“NSCDC Osun State Command is committed to providing a safe and secure environment for all during and after the Easter celebrations. We urge everyone to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the nearest NSCDC office or other security agencies.”

He added that directives have been issued to all Area Commanders and Divisional Officers across the state to maintain a high level of alertness and ensure public safety before, during, and after the celebration.

Sotiyo also appealed to residents to cooperate with security personnel and report any concerns, stating, “Together, we can ensure a peaceful and enjoyable Easter celebration for all.”

He further urged Christian faithful to uphold the teachings of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ and advised travelers to avoid over-speeding and night journeys.
