Easter 2026: Tinubu, First Lady urge Nigerians to keep faith

President Bola Tinubu and First Lady Oluremi Tinubu have called on Nigerians to embrace hope, unity, and compassion as the country celebrates Easter.
In his 2026 Easter message on Friday, President Tinubu said the season symbolises sacrifice and resilience, noting it resonates with Nigeria’s current challenges.
“The Easter season reminds us of the significance of sacrifice, resilience, and the triumph of light over darkness,” he said.
Acknowledging ongoing security and economic difficulties, Tinubu assured citizens that his administration is strengthening efforts to restore peace and foster growth.
“No nation can thrive where fear prevails, and no progress can be sustained without peace,” he added.
In her message, the First Lady emphasised love and support for the vulnerable, saying, “Easter is a reminder of the enduring power of love and the selfless sacrifice of Jesus Christ and the hope His resurrection brings to all humanity.”
She urged Nigerians to extend compassion within their communities and work together for a peaceful and prosperous nation.
Tinubu also wished Nigerians a “Happy Easter”, while the First Lady called on everyone to reflect the spirit of Easter through kindness and unity.
