An All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain and industrialist, Dr Femi Akinkuebi, has called for fairness and competence to guide the party’s forthcoming nomination for the Ondo East/West Federal Constituency seat.

Akinkuebi, in a statement made available to party stakeholders, urged the APC to adhere to its core values in selecting its candidate, stressing the need to promote unity and effective representation.

He argued that Ondo East currently has individuals with proven leadership and legislative experience, which he described as essential for quality representation at the National Assembly.

According to him, the presence of experienced aspirants who are already familiar with governance and legislative duties gives the axis a strategic advantage.

While acknowledging the existence of competent aspirants from Ondo West, Akinkuebi urged the party to carefully balance merit with fairness in its decision-making process, maintaining that Ondo East has shown commitment and readiness, amid urging party leaders to give due consideration to equity in order to sustain internal cohesion.

Akinkuebi further appealed to party leaders and stakeholders to approach the nomination process with a sense of responsibility and foresight.

He concluded by reaffirming his commitment to progressive ideals, urging the party to make decisions that reflect both fairness and competence for the development of the constituency.

The statement comes after heightened consultations ahead of the APC’s nomination process for the Ondo East/West Federal Constituency seat.
