The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has dispatched 35,000 personnel nationwide to bolster security during the Easter celebrations.

This was disclosed in a statement by the NSCDC spokesperson, CSC Babawale Afolabi, on Thursday in Abuja.

Afolabi quoted the NSCDC Commandant General, Ahmed Audi, to have instructed Zonal Commanders and state Commandants to oversee deployment in their respective areas.

Tasking the deployed personnel to ensure tight security before, during, and after the festivities, the CG emphasized the protection of Critical National Assets and Infrastructure.

He also stated that the law enforcement agency would collaborate with sister agencies such as the anti-vandal unit, Special Intelligence Squad (CG’s SIS), Transport and Mining Marshals, Special Female Squad, and Special Force, to maintain round-the-clock surveillance for a smooth celebration.
