The Nigeria Police Force in Oyo State has deployed officers across all 33 Local Government Areas to ensure security during the Eid-al-Fitr celebration.

Disclosing this development in a statement on Thursday, the Commissioner of Police, Femi Haruna, congratulated Muslim faithful on the successful completion of Ramadan and the celebration of Eid-al-Fitr, urging them to uphold the values of peace, tolerance, and unity associated with the season.

He said the command had carried out strategic deployment of personnel, intelligence, and operational assets to guarantee a hitch-free celebration, including intensified patrols, increased visibility policing, and strengthened security presence at Eid prayer grounds, recreational centres, major highways, and other public locations.

Haruna equally directed area commanders, divisional police officers, and heads of tactical units to ensure effective supervision of operations, and maintain collaboration with other security agencies and stakeholders.

Addressing residents, he advised them to remain law-abiding, vigilant, and security-conscious, and to report any suspicious activity to the nearest security post.

The commissioner also reaffirmed the command’s commitment to safeguarding lives and property, while calling for continued public cooperation during the festive period.
