Kunle Busari, son of late Ibadan political figure Busari Adelakun, has declared his intention to contest the 2027 governorship election in Oyo State under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

He made the declaration on Thursday at Methodist Primary School, Oke-Adu, Agodi-Gate in Ibadan.

According to Busari, his ambition is driven by a vision to reposition the state, expressing confidence that the APC has the capacity to deliver effective governance in 2027.

Speaking on his plans, Kunle Busari described his governorship bid as a divinely inspired mission anchored on what he termed, “Renewed Hope and Vision.” He pledged that, if elected, his administration would prioritise people-oriented development, and focus on critical sectors such as education, healthcare, agriculture, security, economic growth, and social welfare.

He also promised targeted programmes for youths, women, and vulnerable groups, including job creation initiatives, skills acquisition schemes, and financial support to promote self-reliance.

Busari further assured residents of his commitment to improving living standards, strengthening security, and ensuring inclusive development across the state, adding that his goal is to restore Oyo State’s status through responsible leadership, economic advancement, and respect for the dignity of labour.

Busari Adelakun, the aspirant’s father, who was popularly known as Eruobodo, was a prominent figure in Ibadan politics during Nigeria’s First and Second Republics, with affiliations to the Action Group, Unity Party of Nigeria, and later the National Party of Nigeria.
