Eid-el-Kabir: Gov Makinde hosts Muslim leaders

Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, on Friday received Muslim leaders in the state at his residence.

The Muslim leaders, who were on a courtesy visit, extended their Eid-el-Kabir greetings to the governor after observing Eid prayers.

Makinde, who received them with great delight, appreciated the Muslim community in the state for their continuous support, prayers, and sacrifices toward the progress of Oyo State. He also congratulated them on the occasion of Eid-el-Kabir.

The governor commended the people of Oyo State for living peacefully with one another despite religious differences.

Notable figures at the meeting included the Deputy Governor, Bayo Lawal; former governor of the state and Otun Olubadan of Ibadanland, Senator Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja; former Deputy Governor and National Vice Chairman (South-West) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ambassador Taofeek Oladejo Arapaja; and several prominent Islamic clerics, among others.
